Prairie Clinic Welcomes Suzanne Welsch, MD, OB/Gyn> Home > Welcome Dr. Welsch
On January 5, 2009, Suzanne Welsch, MD, OB/Gyn, joins Prairie Clinic of Sauk City. She is the second OB/Gyn for the clinic and Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics (SPMHC). Todd Schad, MD, Prairie Clinic president, said, “In the very near future, Dr. Welsch will see patients at Lodi Medical Clinic and River Valley Medical Clinic — we’ll work as a team. I look forward to it.” Welsch, similar to Schad’s current practice, will have regular office hours at Lodi, Prairie, and River Valley clinics. Welsch will offer the full spectrum of routine care for adolescents through senior citizens. Obstetric services range from preconception to delivery and postpartum care. She’ll also provide patient care at SPMHC. This physician-surgeon offers patients numerous areas of expertise: infertility, adolescent health, teen pregnancy, laparoscopic surgery, urinary incontinence, menstrual abnormalities, normal and high risk pregnancy, family planning, menopause management, and female cancer screening. Schad said, “With Dr. Welsch’s arrival, we’ll have another first-rate
physician on our team. We also wanted to provide a female OB/Gyn for
patients with that preference. The area’s residents will now have increased access to state-of-the-art obstetric and gynecological services. “I’m really looking forward to working in the clinics and Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. They’re not only technically advanced; they’re also very focused on the individual needs of each patient,” Welsch said. She has practiced in both rural and urban communities. A self-described “small-town girl,” the move to Prairie Clinic reflects her keen interest in personalized, rural health care. Welsch earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1994; she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. Welsch is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Wisconsin Medical Society, and American Medical Association.
