Dr. Gensler

Dr. Arminda Gensler grew up in Melbourne Beach, a small town on the East Coast of Florida. She remembers having fire drills in elementary school where they would go outside and watch the space shuttle go up. She earned her masters in both biology and English at Williams College, Massachussets, where she graduated Cum Laude with Honors in biology. She loved the gorgeous campus with strong academic programs.

She earned her medical degree from Wake Forest/Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, which is set in the Berkshire Mountains. She got outside a lot and made lovely, lifelong friends. Her rotations were in family medicine, pediatrics and infectious diseases. She remembers that her rotations gave her the opportunity to see how the biology and physiology fits in with the social and family dynamics.

Dr. Gensler completed her residency at the Department of Family Medicine in Madison and loved it. She had great residents, lovely faculty and living in Madison. "I fell in love with Wisconsin", she says.

Dr. Gensler wanted to work in a small town in Wisconsin, and found that she loved the location of Prairie Clinic when she did a residency rotation here. She "felt good" about Prairie Clinic, so she joined Prairie Clinic in September of 2010. She liked the "excellent coworkers, great location and the opportunity to perform full scale family medicine in a small town."

Dr. Gensler enjoys reading, baking, camping and being outdoors in Wisconsin.
