John Koch, a native of Sauk Prairie earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. He earned his doctorate at the St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1974 and completed his residency in 1977 at the University of Wisconsin Family Practice Program in Madison, Wisconsin.

Dr. Koch moved back to the Sauk Prairie area and joined Prairie Clinic in 1977.
