Leah Ederer, MD/ Family Medicine

Leah Ederer grew up in rural Pennsylvania, where she and her family raised Seeing Eye dogs. She attended the West Chester University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Chemistry and Biology with a minor in Early Childhood. During her undergraduate studies, Leah became an EMT working with a local ambulance crew. Leah earned her medical degree at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine with a concentration in Disabilities Medicine. While at the University of Pittsburgh, she received the Dorothy Christie Scott Humanitarian Award.


After completing her coursework, Leah spent two months traveling through the U.S. and Canada via train and interviewing for residencies. Dr. Ederer decided to complete her family medicine residency with UW Madison, where she received the McGovern-Tracy Scholar Award for community service and leadership. Over the years she has also been involved in medical mission trips to Honduras, Belize and rural Australia


Leah has been highly involved with Special Olympics since 2007, and has served as a medical advisor for the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Program since 2009. The mission of the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes program is to improve, through better health and fitness, each athlete's ability to train and compete in Special Olympics.


Dr. Ederer is fluent in American Sign Language. When she is not working, Leah enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children as well as camping, reading and traveling.
